Chilton School Council
Our School Council consists of 10 representatives, one from each class in Years 2 to 6. Representatives are elected by the pupils in their class. We meet every 2 or 3 weeks and share ideas with one another. The whole point of the School Council is to make sure that children's points of view are taken into account at Chilton.
We have discussed many things at School Council meetings. These include the charities that the school has supported; how to make playtimes more fun and whether or not children should be given sweets as treats in school. We decided that it is okay to have sweets, by the way, as long as it's only sometimes!
We have been sending a couple of our representatives to meetings with the council members from Thanet schools. Each school has been asked to design a Water Safety poster for their school web site. Please take a minute to look at the poster which Chilton's council has designed. We hope it will help to keep you safe when you are near water!
